Psycho-education


Psycho-education is an integral component of the therapeutic process, involving the structured delivery of information to individuals and families to enhance their understanding of psychological concerns. By increasing insight, psycho-education fosters a greater sense of empowerment, reduces anxiety, and promotes active and informed participation in therapy. It is typically woven throughout the course of treatment and tailored to the specific needs of each client. In her work with children, Leanne provides psycho-education to parents as a fundamental aspect of intervention, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand their child’s experiences and to support and sustain therapeutic progress within the home environment.

Psycho-education is useful in understanding a diagnosis, treatment options and formulating goals. When working with children, Leanne provides education tailored to the child’s developmental stage and individual needs.
